Hello mga Ka Birdsters!

I hope you are all in safe condition. This typhoon really made a mark in our history. It is so amazing at the same time that such a typhoon could do tremendous damage centering in Metro Manila and some portion of Laguna and Rizal and Bulacan.

I am also a victim of this terrible flood! It went up to chest deep on our ground floor.

Please be alert that an upcoming storm is brewing. It is still outside of Philippine territory but i hope everybody will take precautions and prepare for this weather activity.

Secure food, drinking water and radio plus flashlights. Ensure that you have a center to evacuate to just in case. By the time the typhoon enters the Philippines charge your cellphone battery and if you can load at least 300 Pesos.

Stay awake and observe if the storm keeps on letting heavy rains. As soon as you observe that water level rises abruptly, evacuate immediately to safer grounds.

Keep a copy of NDCC and Red Cross numbers also write down the numbers of radio stations that can forward your SOS to the authorities.

Pray hard! God answers prayers and provides a way out of disasters.

This typhoon indeed caused tremendous damage not to mention lives lost in the Rizal area. Here are some snaps of my garage where my aviary is located.

Here's the view of our house from the 3rd floor of the church beside ours. Most of the back wall has collapsed!!

Luckily, a portion of the wall did not fall down. And that's where my finches are placed (infront of the car)!!!

I hope and pray that a typhoon of this magnitude will not happen again. Lets us do our part by not throwing trash just anywhere. Let us also conserve the use of paper/wood so as not to contribute to deforestation.

I've been trying to contact him since the flood kaso walang signal phone nya. I'm so worried about him and his family. Malalim kasi lugar nila at malapit sa Marikina river.

I hope and pray okay naman siya.

Hi Hyacinth,

although we were a refugee for a day (natulog kami sa katabing simbahan), sabi ko sa sarili na suwerte pa rin kami at buhay pa kami. It was a close call for us esp. for Kitchie na muntik na tangayin ng tubig.

I hope they did not suffer much when they went away.sob,sob. hikbi!

Just went to Mang Pikongs place yesterday at Nangka, Marikina. According to his neighbor, Mang Totong, lumikas daw si Mang Pikong w/ his wife before tumaas ang baha. (wheeeew!)

eto po mga pictures kahapon...

I was able to contact Mang Pikong via text last Saturday night. Sabi nya it was a horrible experience for him. And nai-save lang nya is yung damit na suot, yung small dog at yung lite-ace nya (I assume iniwan na nya sa higher ground yung lite ace before tumaas talaga ang baha). The rest were goners. Siya lang pala nasa house at that time.

Nasa Roosevelt QC sila tumutuloy if I'm not mistaken.

This is so sad. sad.gif

I wish for their fast recovery.

Thank you so much for keeping us uipdated of Mang Pikong's condition.

Tama si ka Jute, lets' visit him kahit sa Roosebelt or let's treat him out kaya? Kahit isang merienda lang.

Lucky you, na-contact mo sya... I had many attempts, pero di ko sya ma contact. Is he having the same number? Can nyou please text me if he has any numbers?

God bless Bernard.

I thank God Mang Pikong's safe.
